Airlines fill order books with Recaro seating

Airlines from Europe, Asia and the Middle East will be outfitting aircraft with Recaro seating in all classes, after orders were announced during last week’s Aircraft Interiors Expo and earlier this week.

The Schwaebisch Hall company announced orders from Hainan Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Gulf Air, British Airways an Iberia.

Hainan Airlines will be equipping its 787-9 Dreamliners with the company’s CL3710 in Economy Class on nine aircraft. It is the airline's third order for the seating.

The SL3530 picked by British Airways and IberlaThe major order from China came from Shenzhen Airlines for 8,000 units of CL5710 Business Class seats and BL3530 Economy seats for 37 737 MAX line fit and 14 A320 retrofits.

British Airways and Iberia, two airlines of International Airlines Group (IAG), have ordered 9,000 units of the lightweight SL3510 model. The seats will be installed on the two European airlines’ new A320neo and A321neo aircraft and are scheduled for delivery in early 2018. In addition, the existing Iberia A320neo aircraft will be retrofitted with Recaro’s SL3510 seats.

Finally, Gulf Air, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, has appointed Recaro to supply the CL3710 Economy Class aircraft seats for the airline’s 10 new 787-9 aircraft and 29 320/321neo aircraft. The contract, which is valued at more than 35 million (US$37.4 million), was signed at this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo.

Gulf Air’s first 787-9 Dreamliner and A320neo deliveries are scheduled for 2018 and the airline’s A321neo aircraft delivery will start in 2020.
